I was reading an article I found “The Science of Crying”. That sparked the idea for this poem. Hope you enjoy it.
People cry
Cry when they’re sad
Or happy, or mad, or guilty
People cry
The emotional pain
The deep distress
The overwhelming feelings
All sources of tears, and some fears
For crying is an outlet
Outlet of their feelings
Feelings deep within
Within the confines of heart
It’s a symptom of extreme
Extreme sadness, extreme joy
It’s a coping mechanism
Hard coded into us humans
People cry
