Disclaimer – The purpose of this post is not to offend anyone, but rather to cause all to think.
Question all that you are taught about god, religion and faith.
Not because god, faith and religion are faulty, no.
But because there are far too many faults with those teaching them.
While many tout their virtues unabashedly, few practice them religiously.
All religions have a singular purpose – To provide peace of mind.
If following a certain religious practice does not give you peace of mind, consider abandoning it for a certain period.
Check, see if your peace of mind improves.
Remember, people are not created for religion.
Quite the opposite. Religion is created for people.
Following religious practices blindly without questioning their origins or their purpose is not practicing faith. It’s practicing idiocracy.
It’s good to believe in god.
It’s good to practice faith.
It’s good to read religious doctrines, for they can teach us ample.
But religious practices … question them for your own peace of mind.
Just because everyone does it, and has been doing it for a long time, does not make it the right thing to do for YOU.
Evaluate each practice individually, and decide for yourself.
Ask – will this provide me with peace of mind?
